Barcelona star, Leo Messi confirms exit from the Catalan club after an emotional press conference earlier today.

The six-time Ballon d’Or winner expressed sadness at the way he was leaving due to a breakdown in contract talks.

Messi has spent 21 years with the club after joining as a 13-year-old boy from Argentina.

It was emotional as he shed tears while confirming that a move to PSG is a possibility.

Reports say talks are already in advanced stages between Messi and PSG with the dressing room already excited.

He said “I gave everything for this club from the first day I arrived to the last. I never imagined having to say goodbye as I didn’t think about it. What’s clear is I did everything possible, and they (Barca) couldn’t do it because of La Liga.”

The press conference was attended by former teammates and his family.

The 34-year-old just led his country to the Copa America victory and was expected to remain in Spain.

Messi is currently the highest goalscorer at the club with 672 goals in 778 games.

He also has six Ballon d’Or awards and 34 trophies in his stay at the club.

The whole fanbase was shocked at the announcement of Messi’s exit as the contract was certain to be signed.

Sergio Aguero was also thought to play alongside his “best friend” but it is never going to happen at club level.

As Messi confirms exit from Barcelona, the world’s attention would be focused on the Lique 1.

PSG’s owners want the Champions League and Messi would help them in that quest with Pochettino at the helms.

It would be weird seeing Messi in another jersey, but like he said “everything will settle down”.
