Harry Kane to Manchester City is going to be the transfer of the season if it actually happens. Champions City have let top scorer Kun Aguero leave for free.
Barcelona had the chance to get a proven striker as City look to replace their highest goal scorer in history. Manager, Pep Guardiola insists the club cannot afford the asking price of Spurs but every day it seems the deal will happen.
Harry Kane has shown another side of him last season as he got more assists and eventually ended up as the highest goal scorer in the 2020/2021 Premier League season with 23 goals.
If Pep can get Kane to City, it would be a huge steal as most fans are already saying the league is over. The likes of Chelsea are chasing Haaland while Manchester United already has Sancho signed and could be getting more.
Kane could be playing in different roles if he moves to City and it would also mean the likes of Gabriel Jesus might have to leave or get limited roles in the team.
Guardiola already has his work well cut out as he would be looking to get to the finals of the Champions League again after that heartbreaking defeat to Chelsea on May 29, 2021.
Many City fans are already dreaming of Kane in their team and if it is eventually confirmed, we are about to experience something explosive in the Premier League.
The competition is bound to be stronger than the last and the teams more complete.
It is certain that City and Liverpool would be contenders while Chelsea and Spurs will also be vying to finish higher than they did. However, the winners of the new season is something that would be more difficult to predict this time around.
With De Bruyne and Gundogan in their prime, Foden solidifying his position in the team, the City team is looking like a force to reckon with for years to come. So think of an addition of a striker like Kane, he might be netting 30 to 40 goals a season which would be a cause for concern for many teams.
It is definitely certain that Pep and City would be looking at the Champions League as a priority, but Guardiola is one coach that doesn’t joke with any competition he is in no matter what.
As a fan, I would love to see Kane in the Manchester City team, but the price might just be too ridiculous especially during a pandemic. If anybody can pay that price, it definitely is Manchester City.
