The European tournament which was scheduled for summer of 2020 was postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic.
Top European teams are fighting for the European title which was won in 2016 by Portugal. Below are some of the teams I think will do well in the tournament.
France
The French national team is well rounded especially after winning the World Cup in 2018. The likes of Kante, Pogba and Mbappe are world beaters and they have showed that. They will be up against Germany and Portugal in the group which is more or less the group of death.
I see them doing well and even going as far as the final because of the squad depth and experience they have.
Spain
The Spanish national team is also a team to watch. This time the coach, Luis Enrique went without Ramos and decided to go with youth instead. Another disruption was right before the tournament started when Busquets tested positive for COVID.
However with the likes of Ferran Torres, Morata, Jordi Alba and Laporte, surely there is enough to be able to go far in the tournament.
Belgium
The golden era is gradually diminishing and this is probably their last chance to stamp their authority on the continent. With the likes of Lukaku, De Bruyne, Hazard, Courtois, the team has enough to be able to beat any team in front of them.
They might have to do a lot, but the team is well balanced especially with a striking force of players that are proven.
Germany
This team has a point to prove in this tournament. This is going to be the last tournament for Low and he would want to go on a high, however the team has to come correct every single game.
It is a mixture of youth and experience with Kroos, Muller and Neuer providing the experience while Havertz, Gnabry and Sane with the youthful burst. They are definitely no pushovers.
Portugal
They are defending champions and with the likes of Ruben Dias providing the cover for Rui Patricio, there is also Bernando Silva, Bruno Fernandes with the creativity of the midfield and the ever present Ronaldo to always score goals whenever he is called upon.
Diogo Jota is another member of the team that can promise goals. It is a well balanced team, if not the most balanced team of the tournament.
My prediction is France to go far in the tournament, Belgium can go as far as the final, Portugal will also do well if they qualify out of their group. Italy are also contenders and should not be pushovers.
