Argentina will be looking to win the 2021 Copa America as Messi tries to win his first International trophy with Argentina.
Football fans have criticised Messi and argued that he is not the greatest player because he has not led the team to an International victory. He has taken Argentina to the World Cup final and also the Copa America final both without victory.
Argentina will be facing Brazil in the early hours of Sunday and many fans will be staying awake to see who eventually wins the title.
The argument of who is the greatest player in the world has always been surrounded by agendas of international titles, goalscoring stats and Ballon d’Or awards. Messi now has another opportunity to win his first title with Argentina and it might solidify his status as the greatest player in history.
However, for some people it is not enough as Messi has faltered in some other areas over the years. He has been explosive this season both for Barcelona and for Argentina being involved in more than half of the goals scored by the team.
This could also be his last appearance for the national team as he would be 35 by the next world cup.
